IWU climbs one slot

2/23/2026 7:28:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Days removed from tying for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team sits at No. 14 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 unveiled Monday, Feb. 23.

Illinois Wesleyan reeled in 275 points to bump up one spot from last week. The Titans are one of two CCIW programs in the top-25, with Carroll checking in at No. 12.

The top-five remained unchanged as NYU held its position at No. 1 with 617 points and 19 first-place votes. Despite holding steady, the Violets saw one first-place vote slip away in favor of second-ranked Scranton (602 points, six first-place votes). Johns Hopkins (561) and Washington & Lee (546) round out the top-four as the remaining undefeated teams across Division III.

The Green and White ran its record to 20-5 with dominant wins over Wheaton and Augustana, Feb. 18-21. IWU used a stingy defensive effort to shut down the Thunder, 71-38, Feb. 18, before soaring past the Vikings, 86-68, Feb. 21.

Illinois Wesleyan hits the road towards the end of the week for CCIW Tournament play. The Titans earned the No. 2 seed in the league tournament and will play in the 5 p.m. semifinal game at Carroll's Van Male Fieldhouse Friday, Feb. 27. IWU will learn its opponents following the completion of Tuesday's quarterfinal contests.
