Shirk Center to Host Opening Rounds of NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

Titans to play Franklin in the opening round Friday, March 4, at 6:45 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS - The fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team will make its return to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament as hosts of opening round play Friday-Saturday, March 4-5. The Titans will take on Franklin College at 6:45 p.m. inside the Shirk Center Friday, March. 4, while the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and Heidelberg University will battle in the other opening round contest at 4:15 p.m. The winners will meet Saturday, March 5, at 6:45 p.m.

The Green and White, which return to the national tournament for the first time since 2018, enter the postseason with a 21-5 overall record. Illinois Wesleyan claimed the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship outright with a 14-2 league record.
