NAPERVILLE, Ill.- Junior Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week, announced April 26. Jones, who was named the league's defensive player of the week April 5, marks the fifth weekly award won by a Titan this season.
Jones scored 10 goals and added an assist, 12 draw controls and five ground balls for the 2-0 Titans last week. She helped lead Illinois Wesleyan to a 14-13 win over Chicago on Thursday, April 22, which tied the Titans for first-place in the CCIW standings. Her seven goals in a 21-12 win over North Central on Saturday, April 24 set a new program record and also helped clinch the Titans a share of the CCIW title.
Jones and the Titans kick off CCIW Tournament play Wednesday, April 28 at Carroll University for the semifinal round at 7 p.m.
