CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Senior Matthew Leritz (St. Louis, Mo.-St. Louis University HS) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Basketball Player of the Week Monday, Nov. 22. Leritz led the fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team to a pair of wins in Michigan, Nov. 19-20. It is the second weekly CCIW award of his career, and the first by a Titan since he was voted the league's player of the week Feb. 3, 2020.

Leritz put up back-to-back 28-point efforts to fuel IWU past Alma (91-74) and Calvin (81-72) to remain undefeated on the year at 5-0. The St. Louis, Mo. native did it all for the Titans, and was efficient in the process. He finished the weekend 25-for-40 (62.5 percent) from the floor and 5-for-9 (62.5) from three-point range. He grabbed 15 rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He finished out the week with his third double-double of the season, as he finished with 28 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in a win at Calvin.

Leritz and IWU return to action at home Wednesday night, Dec. 1, for a 7 p.m. non-conference clash with the University of Chicago.
