D3hoops Poll
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team will head into the 2021-22 season as the No. 4 ranked team in the country according to the D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Preseason Poll announced Friday morning, Oct. 15. It is the 173rd time IWU has appeared in D3hoops.com's Top-25, the ninth-most appearance across all of Division III.
Randolph-Macon topped the poll with 618 points and 19 first-place votes, while Yeshiva checked in at No. 2 with 533 points and a trio of first-place nods. Marietta snuck in just ahead of IWU with 496 points, while Illinois Wesleyan garnered one first-place vote and 463 points. UW-Platteville rounds out the top-five with 417 points.
IWU was one of three College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schools to make the cut, as Wheaton ranked No. 6 and Elmhurst was slotted 10th. North Central received votes in the preseason top-25.
The Titans, who finished the 2020-21 season slotted No. 4 after winning the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship, return several key players from last season's squad.
Illinois Wesleyan is scheduled to open the season at home Sunday, Nov. 7, against Lake Forest College. To view IWU's full 2021-22 schedule, which includes games against five preseason top-25 teams, can be viewed here.

The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Points are awarded on a 25-24-23-22-etc. basis.
