Men’s Tennis Earns Three Academic All-District Honors

Dillow, Hammond, and Vigneri collect awards

GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team saw three student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team announced Tuesday, May 12. Senior Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter), Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora), and junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) earned recognition.

Vigneri took home All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors for the first time in his career. The senior closed the campaign with a record of 11-7 in singles and 9-9 in doubles, primarily at the No. 1 line. He was a two-time CCIW Player of the Week honoree, securing the recognition March 10 and April 28, 2026. This is Vigneri's third academic all-district honor after the senior earned a 3.93 GPA as a health promotion major with a concentration in fitness management.

Hammond took home his third straight CSC Academic All-District award after finishing 9-11 in singles and 12-14 in doubles, which included a run to the consolation finals in the ITA regional alongside senior Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington). Hammond posted a 3.76 GPA as an environmental studies major.

Dillow finished 12-13 in singles and went 11-10 in doubles. The honor is his second straight CSC Academic All-District recognition. The junior finance major, who graduated early, finished with a 3.73 GPA.

The Titans went 9-10 this past season. IWU is expected to return four players next season.
