BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and junior Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) of the Illinois Wesleyan University track & field teams punched their tickets to finals with their top-eight preliminary performances Friday, March 13, at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

In the men's 400m, Lowder won his heat with a time of 48.03. Lowder found himself in the eighth and final qualifying position with two heats of the event to go, as he fended off competitors to earn his second consecutive trip to the national finals of the indoor 400m.

Huber ran a personal-best time 2:10.74 en route to solidifying a spot in the finals in the women's 800m. Huber finished third in her competitive heat, but stole one of the final two qualifying spots. Regardless of outcome in the finals of the women's 800m final tomorrow, March 14, Huber will be the first Titan since Tara Clemens in 2013 to be a First Team All-American in the event.

Finals of the men's 400m and women's 800m will be held Saturday, March 14, at the Birmingham Crossplex. Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) and junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) will also make their championship marks in the women's 3000m and women's triple jump, respectively, tomorrow.
