ORLANDO, Fla. - Illinois Wesleyan University Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications Katie Gonzales was appointed the next president of Division III Sports Information Directors Association, commonly known as D3SIDA, at the annual College Sports Communicators Convention Monday, June 9. Gonzales will serve as the president for the 2025-26 academic year, assuming her duties immediately.

Gonzales steps into the role after serving as the first vice president under Middlebury's Ali Paquette, who passed along the gavel at the NCAA Division III Business Meeting.

"I am incredibly honored to be moving into the role of D3SIDA President for the upcoming year and am especially grateful to my colleagues for putting their trust and belief in me to serve in this role and represent our group on a national level," Gonzales stated.  "D3SIDA has played an instrumental role in creating professional development opportunities for members, providing a path to leadership, and building community within our profession through strong partnerships with organizations like CSC and NCAA Division III. I look forward to following in the footsteps of Tim Volkmann, Amie Canfield, and Ali Paquette as President and carrying forward the momentum they have cultivated with our entire D3SIDA board in the year ahead."

A known face in the athletic communications world, Gonzales will also begin her role as the third vice president of the CSC Executive Board of Directors for the same duration, eventually working her way up to become the president, as well as continuing to serve as the chair of the Academic All-America committee.
