BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – With just two weeks left before the NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championships, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams will take groups to La Crosse, Wis. and Joliet, Ill. for a pair of last chance qualifier meets, Friday and Saturday, May 9-10. The University of La Crosse will host its one day Uncaged Eagle Open on Friday while the University of St. Francis (Ill.) will host a two-day USF Fighting Chance Invite Friday and Saturday.

Days removed from claiming the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin 4-by-400m relay title, Illinois Wesleyan's quartet of sophomores Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) and Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap), junior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), and senior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) will go up against some of Division III's best relay teams in La Crosse on Friday.

The IWU men will send four Titans to St. Francis to compete in distance events as senior Nick Fisch (Woodridge, Ill.-Montini Catholic) is entered in the 5000m, junior Zack Daniel (Lake Barrington, Ill.-Lake Barrington) will race the 1500m, and sophomore Aidan Nishimura (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Hersey) and senior Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Christian Academy) are set to run the 800m. Waterson is coming off a CCIW crown in the 800m, the first of his collegiate career.

On the women's side, sophomore Alex Reinhart (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) will compete in the 800m after finishing second at last weekend's CCIW Championships. Senior Annalese Chudy (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) will run the 10,000m for the second straight weekend after winning the event at the conference meet. Senior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) looks to get another round of competition under her belt in the long jump and the 100m hurdles, having already notched the No. 9 spot in Division III standings in the pentathlon and the No. 16 spot in the open high jump.

Competition at the Uncaged Eagle Open on Friday, May 9 will begin at 3 p.m. while running events at USF Fighting Chance Invite will start at 4 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's competition at St. Francis is slated for a noon start in the field and 1 p.m. start on the track. Live results will be available at both meets and can be found on the men's and women's track and field schedule pages of iwusports.com or by clicking here.
