Women’s Bowling Places 19th at Warhawk Open

Henderson finishes 67th individually

ADDISON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team took a trip up north to compete in the Warhawk Open this weekend, Saturday-Sunday Dec. 7-8 at Stardust Lanes in Addison, Ill. The Titans took 19th-place overall with junior Keira Henderson (Silvis, Ill.-United Township) taking 67th place in individual play.

Saturday, Henderson totaled a 764 pinfall over five games with scores of 161, 143, 151, 135, and 174, as she finished with her highest total of the day in her last game. Freshman Sapphire Bankston-Hunter (North Chicago, Ill.-Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart) had the second-highest pinfall for the Green and White with a 561. Bankston-Hunter's highest individual game saw a score of 137 placing 104th.

Freshman Neveah Porter (Appleton, Wis.-Appleton West) bowled a 524, which is the highest total of the Appleton, Wis. native's career. Porter saw a game-high of 124. Sophomores Joanna Steven (Chicago, Ill.-Kings College Prep) and Bella Horvath (Glenview, Ill-New Trier) placed 123rd and 130th with a pinfall of 444 and 375, respectively.

Through 12 baker games, Illinois Wesleyan bowled a total pinfall of 3909, good for 19th place. Mount Mercy University took the crown bowling a total of 7324 on the day.

The Titans will be back in action after the new year at the Kegel/ISBPA Classic, Saturday-Sunday, Janurary 18-19. The team will travel back to Stardust Lanes in Addison, Ill. to play in some farmiliar territiory.
