BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team travels to Elmhurst, Ill. for a key College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin clash with Elmhurst University Wednesday night, April 20. The battle between the Bluejays and Titans is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan rolls into the midweek matchup on the heels of a 17-7 win over North Central, April 16, that boosted the Titans record to 2-1 in conference play (4-10 overall). Elmhurst sits at 0-9 on the season and is 0-3 in CCIW games this season. The Bluejays have struggled on the offensive end and enter Wednesday following a 25-0 loss to Carthage, April 13.

The Titans hold a 4-1 lead in the all-time series, and have won four straight after the Bluejays won the inaugural meeting 11-5, April 22, 2015. Since then, the Green and White have outscored EU 70-10, highlighted by a 23-0 victory in the last meeting between the two held April 10, 2019.

Offensively, senior Landry Elliott (Milwaukee, Wis.-Nicolet) paces the Titans with a team-high 41 points. She sits tied for the team lead in goals with 27 alongside junior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South). Elliott is also the team leader in assists, having 14 helpers on the season. Freshman Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) has put together a strong rookie campaign with 25 goals of her own, while sophomore Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-Conant) is second on the squad with 13 assists.

Senior Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) has done a bit of everything for IWU. She paces the team in draw controls (54), with Fiandaca just behind her with 48. Jones' 27 caused turnovers are a team-best, as are her 42 ground balls. Offensively she has contributed 18 goals and six assists. Junior Jennie Hubbard (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles East) is second on the team in ground balls (32) and caused turnovers (18), while junior Kelly Carlson (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) is coming off a career game. Carlson reeled in CCIW Defensive Player of the Week honors after notching five ground balls and four caused turnovers, both of which were career-highs, in IWU's win over NCC.
