Track and Field Concludes Last Chance Meets

Three Titans participated in hopes of earning a bid to NCAA DIII Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. / WAVERLY, IOWA - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams sent three athletes to participate in last chance meets March 4-5 for a spot in the NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships field. The men sent freshman Luan Ademovski (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) to Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. The women sent senior Lexie Doresey (Mahomet, Ill-Mahomet/Seyour) and senior Rebekah Harden (Tinley Park, Ill-Lincoln/Way North) to Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.


On the men's side, Ademovski participated in shot put where he posted a mark of 15.46 meters. The Elk Grove Village, Ill. native's personal-best mark was 15.49 meters at the Friday Night Tri, Feb. 18. He currently sits 28th in DIII. 

For the women, Dorsey competed in the 5000 meter race, while Harden took part in the one mile competition. Dorsey posted a 18:39.42, good for a third place finish in the event. The Mahomet, Ill. native holds the 83rd fastest-time in all of DIII this season. Harden ran a 5:18.05. She currently sits in 48th place nationally.

The track and field teams will next participate in the NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio, March 11-12. Once the field is set, updates will be made to iwusports.com.
