Men’s Track and Field Picked to Finish Seventh at CCIW Indoor Championships

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's track and field team is selected to finish seventh at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Championships as the conference office announced, Feb. 17. The CCIW Championships are set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26 in Kenosha, Wis. 

North Central is tabbed as the favorites with a total of 64 points along with eight first place votes. Augustana is predicted to finish in second place after receiving 55 points and one first place vote. Carthage garnered 47 points to round out the top-three.

Wheaton (44 points), Millikin (36 points), Carroll (31 points), and Illinois Wesleyan (19 points) placed fourth through seventh, respectively.

To round out the conference, Elmhurst (15 points) and North Park (13 points) were selected eighth and ninth, respectively.

Voting for the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship Poll is done by the head track and field coaches. Each coach votes for the eight other programs in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (eight points for first, seven for second, etc.). Coaches do not vote for their own teams.

The Green and White are set to host their final tune-up before the CCIW Indoor Championships in the Friday Night Tri, tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 18 with the first event scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
