CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Freshman Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday, Sept. 21. It is the first weekly honor of Ludwig's career and marks the first time a Titan freshman has garnered the award since its inception in 2009.

With her selection, Ludwig is the second Titan to reel in the honor in as many weeks. Sophomore Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) earned CCIW Co-Golfer of the Week recognition, Sept. 14.

Ludwig led the Green and White to a fourth-place finish at the IWU Fall Classic, Sept. 17-18, at Ironwood Golf Course. She was IWU's top finisher, tying for 13th in a loaded field, with a 36-hole score of 152. The Effingham, Ill. native carded a final round of even-par, 72, so ascend 24 spots up the player leaderboard.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action this weekend, Sept. 24-25, at the Dechert Classic hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.
