CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
A record-setting performance by sophomore Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team saw the Macomb, Ill. native named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Co-Golfer of the Week Tuesday, Sept. 14.

It is the first weekly CCIW award of Thorman's career, as well as the first by a Titan since Melanie Wolf did so Sept. 18, 2019. Thorman shared the weekly honor with Carthage's Kate Munro.

Thorman highlighted a record-setting showing for the Green and White at the Wartburg Fall Invitational, Sept. 11-12. After recording an opening round score of 74, Thorman tied the IWU record with a two-under 70 in the final round. Her 36-hole total of 144 broke the previous school record held by Olivia Ruff by two strokes. Additionally, IWU's team total of 597 shattered the school record by 12 strokes.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action this weekend, Sept. 17-18, as host of the IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course.
