BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team welcomes four newcomers to the 2022 squad under the direction of eighth-year head coach Lindsey Kellar. The Titans will add Sophie Bouck (Chicago, Ill.-Marist), Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St.Charles North), Mallory Mills (Schaumburg, Ill.-Conant), and Lizzie Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Saint Viator) for the start of the 2021-22 academic year.

"I am excited to welcome Sophie, Mia, Mal, and Lizzie to the Titan women's lacrosse family," explained Kellar. "This class is made up of four incredibly talented student-athletes who will undoubtedly make immediate impacts not only on the lacrosse field but also in the IWU community."

A native from Chicago, Bouck was a three-year letterwinner at Marist High School. She was awarded with the New Wave Lacrosse One Heart award in 2019 and was honored as the True Lacrosse Spotlight Player in 2020.

On why she chose Illinois Wesleyan, Bouck said "I chose IWU for the opportunity to study in a great biology program and I am lucky enough that I am able to continue my lacrosse career with an amazing group of women. With IWU's extensive class selections and programs for student involvement, my college decision was easy."

Fiandaca comes from St. Charles, Ill. as a four-year letterwinner and two-year varsity captain for the women's lacrosse team at St. Charles North. A four-time all-conference selection, Fiandaca was also named to the all-sectional team as a senior.

She elected to attend IWU for the nursing program, and added "it gives me the proper tools and knowledge to help me excel in my studies, while still allowing me to play the sport I love. I also love the support from the small class sizes which allow me to work closely with my professors to enhance my strengths and improve my weaknesses."

A product from Schaumburg, Ill., Mills was a four-year letterwinner and starter for the women's lacrosse team at Conant High School. Spending time as a midfielder, Mills was named captain her senior year.

"I chose Illinois Wesleyan because I could tell it was a great place to be for both academics and athletics and I loved the energy and competitiveness of the team" exclaimed Mills.

A familiar name to the Titans women's lacrosse program, Rymarscuk comes from Lake Zurich, Ill. where she split time as a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse, two-year letterwinner in field hockey, and a one-year letter winner in tennis at Saint Viator High School. The younger sister of IWU goalkeeper Rebecca Rymarscuk, the younger Rymarscuk was a four-time all-conference selection and an all-state honorable mention freshman year. During her sophomore season she was named the Defensive Player of the Year for lacrosse.

When asked about her decision to become a Titan, Rymarscuk said "I chose IWU because I knew going to this school would help me prepare for what life throws my way."
