Blair & Wyman Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District

Both posted All-American finishes at NCAA Outdoor Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Seniors Ayana Blair (Wheeling, Ill.-Wheeling) and Kelsey Wyman (Monmouth, Ill.-Monmouth-Roseville) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field team were recognized as part of the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 7 team Thursday, July 15. The duo will now advance to the ballot for Academic All-America. 

Blair, who graduated with a degree in biochemistry, broke three school records between the indoor and outdoor seasons and closed out her career with an All-American finish at the NCAA Championship meet. At the national meet, the Wheeling, Ill. native recorded a sixth-place finish in shot put. Tabbed All-Region and All-American by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches of America, Blair holds the indoor and outdoor shot put along with discus (outdoor) school records. She garnered Academic All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors and was named IWU's spring recipient of the Jack Swartz Award.

Wyman wrapped up her career with a sensational showing in the 400m hurdles. The Monmouth, Ill. native clocked in with a time of 1:02.83 to place seventh in the event and secure NCAA All-American honors. She was tabbed All-Region and All-America by the USTFCCCA and earned Academic All-CCIW recognition. Wyman graduated with a degree in neuroscience this past May.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America team will be announced Tuesday, Aug. 10.
