CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced the recipients of the Academic All-Conference honors from the 2020 fall season, as well as the 2021 winter and spring seasons Monday, June 21. A total of 209 Illinois Wesleyan student-athletes were recognized on the Academic All-CCIW team, while six Titans were listed as Jack Swartz Awardwinners. 

The CCIW Academic All-Conference list comprises those individuals that achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and have served at least one year in residency at their respective school. Over 2,500 names were recognized during the 2020-21 academic year.

Additionally, the CCIW announced all of the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award. Each CCIW member institution selects two student-athletes (one male & one female) from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or above and have served at least one year in residency at their respective school. 

Seniors Emmett Zima (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) and Katie North (Aurora, Ill.-Metea Valley) were the fall representatives, while Charlie Bair (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard North) and Kendall Sosa (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) were the winter sports honorees. Seniors Rob Wuethrich (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and Ayana Blair (Wheeling, Ill.-Wheeling) garnered the accolade as spring sport selections. 

The Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award is named after the former Wheaton College Director of Athletics and CCIW Commissioner. Swartz served in the Athletics Director role from 1975-1982 and as CCIW Commissioner from 1987 until his passing on July 11, 1997.
