First sweep of weekly awards since 2017

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Addison Bendery (Chicago, Ill.-Loyola Academy) and senior Ayana Blair (Wheeling, Ill.-Wheeling) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field program swept the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin weekly awards Tuesday, March 9. Bendery took home Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season, while Blair was selected as the Field Athlete of the Week for the first time.

It is the first time the Titans have swept the conference's weekly since Feb. 14, 2017 when Maddie Zimmer (track) and Amelia Gleuck (field) accomplished the feat.

Bendery accomplished personal bests in both the 60 and 200-meter dashes on Saturday, March 6, during the Titans' final triangular meet of the indoor season. Her first-place time in the 200 of 25.66 ranks first in the CCIW and seventh on the NCAA Division III national list, while her second-place time in the 60 of 7.81 ranks first in the CCIW and ninth in Division III.

Blair broke the school record in the shot put on Saturday. She finished with a distance of 13.69 meters, which ranks first in the CCIW and seventh in Division III. Her mark of 17.33 meters in the weight throw was a personal record by 45 centimeters and ranks first in the CCIW and third in Division III.

Illinois Wesleyan wraps up the indoor season this weekend, March 14, with the CCIW Elite Meet inside the Shirk Center.
