NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball swept the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's final postseason awards Monday night, Nov. 8, as senior
Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) was named the conference's Player of the Year, while
Kim Nelson-Brown was voted the CCIW's Coach of the Year. Additionally, sophomore
Annika Altekruse of Illinois Wesleyan was named the CCIW Volleyball Elite 25 Award winner.
Corey is the seventh Titan to be recognized as the CCIW's Player of the Year, joining Kirstin Rajala (1989), Amy Rajala (1991), Kellie Schmidt (1999), Beth Crowley (2003), Molly May (2004), and Tyler Brown (2018).
The senior setter was a First Team All-CCIW pick, and earned CCIW Player of the Week honors twice this season. She leads a potent Titan attack with 566 assists on the year, averaging 5.34 assists per set in conference play. She also leads the Titans with 39 service aces and is fourth on the team with 246 digs.
Nelson-Brown earned her third career CCIW Coach of the Year after leading the Titans to a sweep of the CCIW regular season and tournament titles. The Titans finished the regular season with a record of 19-12 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
The Titans will make their seventh appearance in program history in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship beginning Thursday, Nov. 11, when the Titans face University of Northwestern-St. Paul in a match played at UW-Eau Claire.
