Women’s Golf Tied for First After Two Rounds at CCIW Championship

IWU tied with Carthage at 609 going into final round

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team is tied for lead at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship after two days of play at Ironwood Golf Course. The Titans tallied a second round 313 on the par-72, 5835-yard course Friday, Oct. 1, and will enter the final round even with Carthage College at 609.


Sophomores Lexi Onsrud (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) and Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) and freshman Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) all carded 78s to lead IWU on day two. Freshman Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) added a 79.

Onsrud is second individually with a 36-hole score of 149, while Thorman is tied for third (150). O'Neill holds a share of fifth, with Ludwig sitting in 10th.

Carthage used a big round to climb into a tie with the Titans. The Firebirds carded a 293 and sit even with the Titans at 609 with 18 holes to play. Augustana ranks third at 625, with Elmhurst (666) and Millikin (676) rounding out the top-five. Carthage's Adrienne Rohwedder is atop the individual standings with a 146 (75-71).
