Men's Cross Country Takes 16th at NCAA Regional

Steven Raybould had best time at 26:31.0 to finish 75th

WINNECONNE, Wis. -
The Illinois Wesleyan University men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships, Saturday, Nov. 16. The men placed 16th out of the 36 teams on the 8k course with a total of 506 points.

Senior Steven Raybould (Hometown, Ill.-Oak Lawn HS) finished with the top time for the Titans, coming in 75th with a time of 26:31.0. The time marked an almost two-minute improvement for Raybould from last year's Midwest Regionals as he clocked in at 28:24.

Junior Matt Wagner (Palos Heights, Ill.-Marist HS) clocked in at 26:49.9 as the second-best finisher for the Titans in 89th. Fellow junior Jaeden Danko (Eagan, Minn.-Eagan HS) set a new career-best time for the second straight meet, coming in the finish line at 26:54.4 to claim 94th.

No. 1 ranked North Central College finished with 47 points to win its 31st regional title. Ryan Cutter of the University of Chicago took the individual title, running the 8k course in 24:32.6.
