USTFCCCA Scholar-Athletes of the Year Announcement
NEW ORLEANS – Illinois Wesleyan University May graduate
Amelia Glueck has been named as the Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year for NCAA Division III Outdoor Field on Thursday, July 26, by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Scholar Athletes of the Year were selected as the highest finishing performers at the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships who achieved All-Academic status. Those athletes who won individual NCAA titles ranked higher in the tie-breaking process and cumulative GPA is weighed as the final advantage.
Glueck (Pekin, Ill., Tremont HS), who graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average with a degree in health promotion and wellness management, was a Division III All-American in every NCAA Championship she entered including individual outdoor long jump national titles in 2016 and 2018.
Emily Richards of Ohio Northern was the winner for indoor and outdoor track and Katherine Pitman of Ithaca was the Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year in NCAA Division III indoor field.

Jillian Runyon joined Glueck in earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Combining their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition during the recently completed academic year, a total of 627 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: 1) Competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship; 2) Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA descending order list.
Both the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's teams were among the 291 teams honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA.
The men's team had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.12 and the women's team was at 3.24. In order to be in contention for Scholar Team of the Year, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
