Illinois Wesleyan Women's Trio Competes in Dubuque Indoor Pentathlon

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Illinois Wesleyan freshman Jessica Franklin scored 3,178 points to finish first and sophomore Kelsey Wyman had 2,335 to finish sixth in the women's pentathlon at the University of Dubuque Championships at the A.Y. McDonald Indoor Track on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Franklin got first in the 800 meter run (2:26.55) and the high jump (4 feet-10.5 inches) while placing second in the 55 meter hurdles (8.84 seconds) and shot put (30 feet-10.25 inches) and fifth in the long jump (16 feet-1.5 inches).

Wyman got second in the 800 meter run (2:26.85), seventh in the 55 hurdles (10.0 seconds), eighth in the high jump (4 feet-1.25 inches) , sixth in the long jump (11 feet-8.5 inches) and fourth in the shot put (28 feet-11.25 inches).

Sophomore Cora Wilkinson also competed in three of the five events, placing fourth in the 55 hurdles (8.99 seconds) , tying for first in the high jump (4 feet-10.5 inches) and getting sixth in the shot put (24 feet-10.5 inches).
