IWU's 4x400 relay team finished sixth in NCAA finals

4x400 Team and Joiner NCAA Track All-Americans

(in the 100) and members of the 4x400 relay team earned All-American status with sixth place finishes at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday (May 24) at Selby Stadium and George Gauthier Track in Delaware, Ohio.

Joiner, the national indoor 60 meter champion this winter, got three points for her sixth place finish in the 100, turning in a time of 12.16 seconds. The champion was junior Carly Fehler of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 11.93 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team also earned IWU three points with a sixth place time of 3:46.85. The team consisted of freshman Maddison Zimmer, sophomore Angela Herrmann, freshman Liz Oltman and junior Allie Boudreau. The winning time was 3:42.24 from the Wisconsin-LaCrosse team.

In other IWU action Saturday, sophomore Jill Harmon was 11th in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet-9 1/2 inches and junior Maddie Greybar was 19th in te javelin throw at 127 feet-3 inches.
 
Illinois Wesleyan finished tied for 20th place with 11 total points. Wartburg was the team champion with 65 points, narrowly edging Wisconsin-Oshkosh with 63 points.
