Complete Results, Keck Indoor Track Meet, Feb. 6
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's track team finished first of 21 teams and the men's team was ninth of 17 at the Keck Indoor Track meet, held February 6 ("Seniors' Day") at the Shirk Center.
The IWU women amassed 152 points, easily distancing themselves from second place Rhodes with 57. The Titan men collected 19 points as Washington U. finished first with 76.
On "Senior Day" at her final indoor meet at the Shirk Center, senior
Amanda LaRocca won four events - the 200 (26.09 seconds), the 55 (7.18 seconds), the 55 hurdles (8.25 seconds) and the high jump (5 feet-4 1/4 inches). Her times in the 55 and the 55 hurdles were NCAA Division III provisional qualifying times.
Three Titans turned in NCAA Division III provisional qualifying times in the 400 with the top three finishes - senior
Ali McCoy was first at 57.55, followed by sophomore
Lauren Alpert at 58.24 and senior
Shavantay Thomas in 58.38 seconds.
McCoy and Alpert joined senior
Mackenzie Clemens and
Jessica Christy in winning the 4x400 relay race with a time of 3:53.67, an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying standard.
Freshman
Tara Clemens ran to an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time in the 800 NCAA provo in the 800 (2:15.58).
The Titans got first and second in the mile run with seniors
Kerry Devitt and Mackenzie Clemens turning in times of 5:08.75 and 5:10.07, respectively, and freshman
Elise Anderson won the 3000 meter run with her mark of 10:35.28.
Caitlin Eskew finished second in the 200 with a time of 26.72 seconds and senior
Chinny Ekwulugo got a second place finish in the triple jump (35 feet-5 1/4 inches).
At the women's indoor pentathlon, contested at the Shirk Center on Friday, Feb. 5, senior
Emily Hagen was seventh with 2668 points.
Twelve of the men's 19 points came in the mile run as senior
Wally Farris earned eight points with his second place finish (4:19.39) and
Tyler Saunders got four points as he finished fourth with a time of 4:20.60.
Alex Lambert earned six points as he placed third in the pole vault at a height of 14 feet-3 1/4 inches and
Adam Harrison got sixth in the 55 hurdles with a time of 7.99 seconds.
