DAY TWO RECAP

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The llinois Wesleyan women's track team has won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin indoor championship for the second straight year and junior Amanda LaRocca was chosen as the track "Athlete of the Meet" at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Feb. 28.
In addition, head coach Chris Schumacher and his staff earned women's "Coaching Staff of the Year" honors.

Th women totaled 202 points to outdistance North Central with 176 while the men's team placed fourth in the league meet with 48 points. North Central was the winner with 222.

LaRocca finished first in the 55 meter dash with an NCAA automatic qualifying (and school record) time of 7.11 seconds and placed first in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.21 seconds, also an NCAA autmatic standard. She also placed second in the high jump at 5 feet-5 3/4 inches.
Ali McCoy was another double winner for the Titans, claiming the 200 in 25.31 seconds and the 400 in 57.88 seconds, both NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
Mackenzie Clemens won the 800 for the second straight year (2:17.05) and Kerry Devitt won the 3000 meter run (10:26.16) and finished second in the mile.
The women's 4x400 relay team also racked up first place points with their time of 4:01.23.

Darien West provided the lone IWU men's victory on Saturday with his weight throw of 54 feet-5 1/2 inches.

North Central's Missy Savino was chosen as the women’s field "Athlete of the Meet" while Kyle Brady of North Central and Ted McMillan of Augustana were selected as the men's track and field "Athletes of the Meet", respectively. North Central also earned men's "Coaching Staff of the Year" honors.

Day One Results

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After six events, the Illinois Wesleyan women's team is in second place and the men's team is in fifth on the first day of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin indoor track championships, held on Friday, Feb. 27 at IWU's Shirk Center.
The defending CCIW and NCAA Division III indoor champion Titan women have 51 points and trail first place North Central with 74 while the men have amassed 11 points and North Central leads with 76.
The women got a first place in a school record, Shirk Center record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 11:56.35 from the distance medley relay team consisting of freshman Jessica Christy and juniors Mackenzie Clemens, Ashley Heilingoetter and Kerry Devitt.
Amanda LaRocca also got a first place in the long jump with her NCAA provisional leap of 18 feet-1/2 inches and Kyla Motz collected a second place in the weight throw. Angela Oltman also finished second in the pentathlon, piling up 2982 points, and Erin Moran got third in the pole vault at a height of 11 feet-7 inches.
For the men, Alex Lambert got sixth in the pole vault at 14 feet-5 1/4 inches and John Maloney earned a fifth place in the pentathlon with 3196 points.
